- Oui, mon frère, je suis un méchant,
- un coupable.
- Un malheureux pécheur tout plein d'iniquité.

Ezequiel
Ora aconteceu no trigésimo ano,
no quarto mês,
no dia quinto do mês,
que estando eu no meio dos cativos,
junto ao rio Quebar, se abriram os céus,
e eu tive visões de Deus.

Suave mari magno
Suave mari magno, turbantibus æquora ventis,
E terra magnum alterius spectare laborem,
Non quia vexari quemquam est jucunda voluptas.
Sed quibus ipse malis careas quia cernere suave est.
Da Natureza das Coisas

o Oportunismo

Ibitis sine me
Ibitis Aegaeas sine me, Messalla, per undas,
O utinam memores ipse cohorsque mei.
Me tenet ignotis aegrum Phaeacia terris,
Abstineas avidas, Mors, modo, nigra, manus.
Abstineas, Mors atra, precor: non hic mihi mater
Quae legat in maestos ossa perusta sinus,
Non soror, Assyrios cineri quae dedat odores
Et fleat effusis ante sepulcra comis,
O utinam memores ipse cohorsque mei.
Me tenet ignotis aegrum Phaeacia terris,
Abstineas avidas, Mors, modo, nigra, manus.
Without me you will sail, Messalla, the Grecian waves;
may you and all our friends remember me!
Phaeacia holds me here, sick in a foreign land,
but hold far off, dark Death, your greedy hands!
Hold off, black Death, I pray: I have no mother here
to gather my burnt bones in grieving arms;
no sister, to pour Syrian incense on my pyre
and weep with streaming hair before my tomb;
nor Delia either, who, when sending me from Rome,
sought omens first (they say) from every god.

WISDOM
Knowing others is wisdom;
Knowing the self is enlightenment.
Mastering others requires force;
Mastering the self needs strength.
He who knows he has enough is rich.
Perseverance is a sign of willpower.
He who stays where he is endures.
To die but not to perish
Knowing the self is enlightenment.
Mastering others requires force;
Mastering the self needs strength.
He who knows he has enough is rich.
Perseverance is a sign of willpower.
He who stays where he is endures.
To die but not to perish
is to be eternally present.

SHO-CHU-RAI
The Coming from within the Real
Within nothingness there is a path Leading away from the dusts of the world. Even if you observe the taboo On the present emperors name,
You will surpass that eloquent one of yore Who silenced every tongue.
You will surpass that eloquent one of yore Who silenced every tongue.

SANDOKAI
In the light there is darkness,
but don't take it as darkness;
In the dark there is light,
but don't see it as light.
but don't take it as darkness;
In the dark there is light,
but don't see it as light.
Light and darkness oppose one another
like front and back foot in walking.
like front and back foot in walking.
Each of the myriad things has its merit,
expressed according to function and place.
expressed according to function and place.
Phenomena exist; box and lid fit.
Principle responds; arrow points meet.
Principle responds; arrow points meet.
Hearing the words, understand the meaning;
don't set up standards of your own.
If you don't understand the Way right before you,
how will you know the path as you walk?
Progress is not a matter of far or near,
but if you are confused, mountains and rivers block your way.
don't set up standards of your own.
If you don't understand the Way right before you,
how will you know the path as you walk?
Progress is not a matter of far or near,
but if you are confused, mountains and rivers block your way.
I respectfully urge your who study the mystery,
do not pass your days and nights in vain.
do not pass your days and nights in vain.

GÉNESIS 6
A Terra estava corrompida diante de Deus e cheia de violência.
Deus olhou para a Terra e viu que ela estava corrompida,
pois toda a humanidade seguia,
na Terra,
os caminhos da corrupção.

GYA TEI GYA TEI HA RA GYA TEI
O Sariputra, form is no other than emptiness,
Emptiness no other than form,
Form is precisely emptiness,
Emptiness precisely form.
Sensation, perception, reaction and consciousness are also like this.
O Sariputra, all things are expressions of emptiness,
Emptiness no other than form,
Form is precisely emptiness,
Emptiness precisely form.
Sensation, perception, reaction and consciousness are also like this.
O Sariputra, all things are expressions of emptiness,
Gate, gate, paragate, parasamgate, bodhi svaha!
Gone, gone, gone to the other shore beyond.

TAO
To nourish the vital energy, keep watch in silence;
In order to subdue the mind, act with non-action.
Of movement and stillness, be aware of their origin;
There is no work to do, much less someone to seek.
The true and constant must respond to phenomena;
Responding to phenomena, you must be unconfused.
When unconfused, the nature will stabilize by itself;
When the nature stabilizes, energy returns by itself.
When energy returns, the elixir crystallizes by itself;
Within the pot, the trigrams of kǎn and lí are joined.
Yīn and yáng arise, alternating over and over again;
Every transformation comes like a clap of thunder.
White clouds form and come to assemble at the peak;
The sweet nectar sprinkles down Mount Sumeru.
Swallow for yourself this wine of immortality;
You wander so freely—who is able to know you?
Sit and listen to the tune played without strings;
Clearly understand the mechanism of creation.
It comes entirely from these twenty lines;
A true ladder going straight to Heaven.
In order to subdue the mind, act with non-action.

Vanished

Both the man and the animal have disappeared,
no traces are left,
The bright moon-light is empty and shadowless with all the ten-thousand objects in it;
If anyone should ask the meaning of this,
Behold the lilies of the field and its fresh sweet-scented verdure.
